My research has focused mainly on the the art and design productions of the Tijuana-San Diego border. My main interest has been to find how these images are created, who creates them and what is the motivation behind them. The role of hybridization plays a central role in my research, as this was the complex context where the images exist
For my Master’s thesis I focused on the images located on the metallic fence and used Kenneth’s Burke Pentad as my main research tool. I obtained a scholarship for my research that covered my tuition and living expenses, and my educational performance granted me the medal of academic achievement for my studies.
My other research interests are urban art, social design, new technologies, identity and the teaching and learning of graphic design.
